ABOUT MINORITY DEFENDERS FORUM
We advocate, defend and petition for the rights of the defenceless marginalised communities expecially lgbtiq+ and other key populations including sex workers, drug queens and people living with Hiv/AIDS. We do this through legal aid support, sexual minority rights activist, mentorship, coaching in diversity, inclusion and equality and sheltering queer members facing anti-gay laws and homophobic attacks beyond boundaries.
Our vision is to see a world free from bias and hatred where all people are equal despite their gender identities and sexual orientation.

Toto Queer "SUPPORT MY EDUCATION "project
We are thrilled to share the impact of the Minority Defenders Forum on the lives of children of queer parents in Kenya and Uganda through our “SUPPORT MY EDUCATION” project. Thanks to your unwavering support, we have been able to provide these children with access to quality education and safe shelters, ensuring they have a secure and nurturing environment to thrive.
Our efforts have focused on addressing the unique challenges faced by these families, offering not just educational opportunities but also emotional and social support. By creating inclusive and safe spaces, we have empowered these children to pursue their dreams without fear of discrimination or prejudice.

Our core values
Promoting inclusivity, equality, and advocacy for the rights of the LGBTIQ community. We focus on providing safe spaces, support services, and raising awareness about the challenges faced by the LGBTIQ+ community. We prioritize respect, empowerment, and solidarity to create a more accepting and understanding environment for all individuals beyond boundaries .
In addition to our work in Kenya, we have also made significant strides in supporting the Ugandan queer community during a time of extreme adversity. When the Ugandan government passed harsh homophobic laws, we mobilized swiftly to provide refuge and assistance to those affected. Our safe shelters, managed by dedicated members at safeshelters@minority-defenders-forum.org, have become sanctuaries for many, offering not only physical safety but also emotional and legal support.
